The Knights of Columbus is an international organization comprised of more than 2 million Catholic gentlemen, 18 years of age or older, who are both men of faith and men of action.
Our local council's membership comes from throughout the northern part of the Keweenaw Peninsula, as well as a few from other parts of the U.P. and U.S. The core principles of the Knights of Columbus are:

The National Catholic Society of Foresters was founded in 1891
with a mission of service to others.
Sacred Heart Court #517 has been moving faith into action locally since 1901
with a commitment to the Catholic faith through Love, Benevolence, and Charity.
Amongst the programs and projects (many of which raise funds for local causes)
of Sacred Heart Court #517 are:

Rummage Sales
Can Tab Collections &
Baby Clothes Collections
In addition Sacred Heart Court #517 sponsors a ‘Junior Court’ for members 15 years old
and under which also focuses on service to others.
Membership is open to anyone who is a Catholic,
or the spouse or child of a member
of the Catholic Church.
